Sorry Girls. Your cell phones and iPods are cordially uninvited to camp this year. We are so excited to have some sweet experiences at camp and we really don't want your cell phones and iPods to steal the show. Leave them home and join us at camp where we can tweet with the birds and enjoy some real face time with girls from our stake and your wards.
But how can you take pictures?? Find a camera that does not have a communication or entertainment device a part of it, then bring it to camp to document some seriously good times. If you don't have one, your ward camp specialist will have one on hand to snap some goodies of you and your camp buddies.
But how can you keep your friends updated with the latest events of your life?? Bring some post cards and stamps and whenever you feel like a momentous event occurs you wish to share, write it down and we will mail it for you. Or keep a great journal during our nightly journal time and you can fill everyone in when you get home on Friday.
And how will your mom know how you are doing?? Once again, ward camp specialist to the rescue. She will have a phone if it is necessary for you to contact your mom while you are gone. We are not trying to deprive you, only make you aware of all the sweet creations and experiences that can be found in the world once our distracting cell phones and communications are put away for a week.
Please know this rule will strictly be kept at camp. Any phones or devices that sneak into your bags will have a special place in the stake directors cabins until camp is concluded.
